While I didn't expect him to work for free and I understand that he should be compensated for his work and time regardless of whether or not we agree to the repair, I did NOT appreciate learning of his fee AFTER the work was complete.

Use caution!

i took it to the best buy in Christiansburg and they immediately identified an issue with the power supply, they fixed it in less that a week and for $30

He was a nice guy and seemed to be knowledgeable, just make sure you ask about pricing UP FRONT.

I was shocked and confused that this was the first I was hearing of this fee. When I asked him why he was not up front about a service fee, he said, " well, I don't do nothin for free."

A few days later he called and said my tv needed a new main board which would cost $280. We decided not to do this repair and rather put that money toward a new tv. It was only at this time that he informed me that I owed him $105 for a service fee!

The audio went out on our 5 year old LG tv so I called customer support. They were unable to help so they put me in touch with a local repair shop- Dalton's. I called and he asked me to send him some info about my tv. He called me back quickly and said he should likely be able to fix my problem for $105-$155 but would know for sure once he took a look in person.

He came out to my house a few days later. He was very nice and spent some time working on the tv. He was unable to fix it at my house so he said he would need to take it to his shop.

the guy seemed nice, but a week after i had dropped my computer off, they called and said they couldn't find the issue(obviously hardware) and they charged me $100 for the assessment.

I'm sure Dalton is good for some things, but $100 for a shoddy job us a tad unacceptable, especially if the fix for the problem is only $30
